"Ghost bikes are small and somber memorials for bicyclists who are killed or hit on the street. A bicycle is painted all white and locked to a street sign near the crash site, accompanied by a small plaque. They serve as reminders of the tragedy that took place on an otherwise anonymous street corner, and as quiet statements in support of cyclists' right to safe travel"

Sheets that look like boxes - with a large percentage of proceeds going to a homeless charity. Sweet idea.

Outsiders NY
Big Show about to drop in New York from Laz inc. Should be a good one. JR has already started to decorate the area with his notorious murals.

NYC Waterfalls
You all probably know of Olafur Eliasson from his Sun exhibit at Tate Modern - had over a million visitors and had people lying on the floor sun bathing and spelling out words and messages using their bodies in the mirrored ceiling...
Well he's recently made 3 waterfalls off / below bridges in NYC... pretty stunning stuff and thousands of pictures posted on Flickr. More here

Some random bits
A dude in the office just emailed me some bits... not sure where from so can't reference / link up so apologies but some neat ideas...
A tent in the shape of a car so you can pitch / park up anywhere
A bike that folds up into a ruck sack that beats Bromptons hands down
An Imperial Walker baby buggy which needs no more explanation
And finishing with the portability theme - a seat you can wear
A toy that simulates the bursting of bubble wrap bubbles

Music an body parts
This lovely thing visualises what body parts people sing about in different genres of music. Pointless but interesting.
The chart above, based on a sample of thousands songs, tells the story. The size of a circle corresponds to how often that part is mentioned in each genre. Hip hop wins hands down.

This is quite nice from over in Lyon... Loads of artists from around the world putting fake street signs up, turning Lyon's streets into a gallery without walls.
