French photographer and large-scale paste-up / urban artist “JR”is in Shanghai launching his worldwide “Wrinkles of the City” project. The project, which starts in Shanghai, pays tribute to the history and heritage of great cities through portraits of local elderly who have lived through generations of their changes.
This execution is particularly good.

Over the past year The Underbelly Project has brought more than 100 artists to the station without any official authorisation. Each artist was given one night to paint something. Here are some of them:

Journalism warning...
Tom Scott has made some fantastic little warning stickers about the integrity of what we read in papers - he's sticking them to articles in papers he find left on the London Underground. We can dig that...

Sweza uses QR Codes to preserve graffiti, photographing graffiti before it is removed by local authorities. Once the graffiti has been removed, he adds a QR Code in the same location, leading to an image of the original.

TrustoCorp
NYC based TrustoCorp (an upstart street art conglomerate) are full of mischief and mayhem.
They've made fake products and put them on the shelves of real stores....

More on that over at Arrested Motion
They've done tons of guerrilla street signage as social commentary and culture jamming. Like:

Their Flickr stream is full of cool shit and is well worth a look; their minimal official site is here

Sweman
This is old (2003) but good - on the streets of Bologna. A life size human poster of a character called Sweman who has a drinking problem, pisses everywhere and is just generally a man about town.
