Social Media over the next 5 years
There's loads of Buzz around Social Media and to celebrate Mashable's 5th B'day they've been asking various experts to give their view on the next 5 years. Have a read.
http://mashable.com/2010/09/07/next-5-years-social-media/
Now there's nothing particularly Earth shattering in this over view from the mashable guys. It seems obvious to us that as social media networks, like Facebook, are adopted by the older masses they'll be rejected by the younger generation, who will inevitably move on to the next latest thing. After all who really wants to be hanging out in the same bar as their mum. In the next 5 years will we become more closed rather than open? Will social snobbery, privacy and fraud lead us to be more conservative, less trusting and more selective about who we let in to our various worlds?

Mouse tracks
I saw this over at Crack Unit - a piece of software that tracks the movement of your mouse over a day (for example) and makes a visual of it. Nice...
You can download it and have a go yourself

Picture keyboard

Chris DeLorenzo has made a keyboard with pictures instead of the alphabet. I'll elt him explain - "We used to learn our alphabets by reading those classroom banners that associated each letter with an animal or object. These days as kids become increasingly computer dependent at an early age I thought it was about time to adapt an old method to a new medium. From cultural icons to greek mythology, this keyboard sticker set will advance the alphabetical knowledge of any child, or adult."

Photosketch
is pretty cool. Basically draw a shit picture of something and it will piece a real photographic interpretation of the drawing together from retrieved photos from the net.
Not sure how or why - but why not.

CueLight Pool Table
The CueLight uses a conventional pool table as it’s canvas and the paint brush is an overhead projector equipped with sensors and motion detectors. The projector creates images on the pool table based on how the game is played
